1. Conciliatory – Trying to make peace or calm a situation.

Example: She spoke in a conciliatory tone to avoid further arguments.



2. Ruptured – Broken or torn apart suddenly.

Example: The pipe ruptured, causing water to flood the house.



3. Incursion – A sudden attack or invasion.

Example: The enemy’s incursion into the village was unexpected.



4. Skirmish – A small fight or conflict, usually not very serious.

Example: The two rival groups had a brief skirmish before the police arrived.



5. Halting – Stopping or hesitating, often in an unsteady way.

Example: His speech was halting because he was nervous.



6. Bilateral, Bilateral Trade – Involving two sides or two countries.

Example: The two nations signed a bilateral agreement to promote trade.

Example: Bilateral trade between the countries increased after the new deal.



7. Nominally – In name only, but not in reality.

Example: He is nominally the leader, but others make the real decisions.



8. Presage – A sign or warning of something to come.

Example: Dark clouds presage a coming storm.



9. Substantive – Important, real, or meaningful.

Example: The meeting focused on substantive issues, not just formalities.



10. Abiding – Lasting for a long time.



Example: He has an abiding love for music.


11. Rivalry – Competition between two people, teams, or groups.



Example: The rivalry between the two companies has lasted for decades.


12. Ambiguous – Not clear or having more than one meaning.



Example: His answer was ambiguous, so no one knew what he really meant.


13. Slash – To cut something sharply or reduce it drastically.



Example: The company decided to slash prices to attract more customers.


14. Predilection – A strong liking or preference for something.



Example: She has a predilection for spicy food.


15. Orchestrating – Planning and organizing something carefully.



Example: The manager is orchestrating the company's expansion.


16. Ceding – Giving up control or power over something.



Example: The country refused to cede any land to its neighbor.


17. Erstwhile – Former or previous.



Example: He met his erstwhile friend after many years.


18. Forging – Creating or developing something with effort.



Example: They are forging a strong business partnership.


19. Impediment – Something that makes progress difficult.



Example: Lack of funds is a major impediment to the project.


20. Illusory – Not real; something that only seems real.



Example: The idea of a perfect society is illusory.


21. Coerce – To force someone to do something.



Example: The police cannot coerce a confession from a suspect.


22. Deter – To discourage or prevent someone from doing something.



Example: High prices deter customers from buying the product.


23. Inordinate – More than what is normal or necessary.



Example: He spent an inordinate amount of time on social media.


24. Interim – Temporary or for a short time until something permanent is arranged.



Example: The company appointed an interim CEO until they found a permanent one.
