📆 Part 1: Days of the Week (Días de la semana)

Spanish date structure:
📅 el + day + de + month + de + year

📝 Examples:

  • Hoy es lunes. → Today is Monday.

  • Es el diez de abril de 2025. → It’s April 10, 2025.

  • ¿Qué día es hoy? → What day is today?

  • ¿Cuál es la fecha? → What’s the date?

🧠 Grammar Note:

  • "Hoy es lunes" (Today is Monday) – no article needed before the day when using “Hoy es…”

  • For repeating events (e.g. every Monday):

🌞 1. Days of the Week – More Notes

❗ Don’t capitalize days (or months) in Spanish unless at the start of a sentence.

  • Correct: lunes, martes, miércoles

  • Wrong: Lunes, Martes, Miércoles

  • Use “el” for one-time events

  • Use “los” for something repeated weekly

🗓️ 2. Dates in Spanish – Structure

Spanish flips the order compared to English.

📌 Important words:

  • Hoy = today

  • Ayer = yesterday

  • Mañana = tomorrow

  • Pasado mañana = the day after tomorrow

  • Anteayer = the day before yesterday

You can describe weather & activities by season:

  • En verano hace calor → In summer it’s hot

  • En invierno nieva → In winter it snows

  • Me gusta la primavera porque hace buen tiempo
    → I like spring because the weather is nice

You can also say:

  • Estamos en primavera → We are in spring
